Fruit is an identity. It is the visible expression of life within. A fruit is the final stage of growth before it fades away, yet within it lies the mystery of new life. Fruit also reveals a season, for every season brings forth its own fruit. Not all fruits are sweet, but the essential character of a true fruit is that it carries within itself the ability to reproduce.

From the very beginning, God established this principle in creation:

“Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth.”

Many fruits may appear beautiful outwardly, yet they may not be fit to eat. They may possess the appearance of fruit, but if they are not edible, they have little value. A true fruit must be pleasant to taste, nourishing to others, and capable of producing more fruit so that the cycle of life may continue. Without this, it cannot truly be called fruit.

After creating humanity in His own image, God blessed them and gave them His first command:

“Be fruitful and multiply.”

Fruitfulness, therefore, is one of the primary purposes of human life. Every fruit is designed to reproduce its own kind. A mango tree brings forth mangoes; an orange tree produces oranges. In the same way, human beings are called to bear fruit according to the life within them.

If Christ lives in us, His life will produce fruit through us. His love, grace, truth, and righteousness will multiply in the lives of others. A fruitful life is not merely about existence; it is about reflecting Him and bringing forth more life.

So let us remain rooted in Him, bear good fruit, and become multiplied for His glory.
