The Lord God told me strictly that I should not eat the fruits of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” …(Gen.2:17)
Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman,… …(Gen.2:22)
When I received the command not to eat from the forbidden tree, Eve had not yet been created. The Lord gave that instruction to me alone. Later, when He formed Eve from one of my ribs, I named her.
Every tree in the garden was beautiful and pleasing to the eye. We freely ate their fruit, and all of it was good for food. Eve often asked me about the tree in the middle of the garden. Its fruit looked as pleasant as the others, but I told her the Lord God had commanded us not to eat from it, or death would follow. Since the garden was filled with many other fruitful trees, we were content.
We were truly happy in the garden, enjoying all the Lord had created for us. Everything He made—in heaven and on earth—was good, and God Himself declared it so. We lived in His presence and fellowship each day. Everything was well until one fateful day.
First, I should tell you about Nachash. He had been with us from the beginning. He could walk, talk, and laugh like us, but he was not human. He followed us wherever we went, played with us, and helped us in the field. He understood our language and obeyed our commands. One day, as we walked through the garden and came near the forbidden tree, Nachash suddenly asked Eve a question.
“Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
His question seemed strange. Nachash had never spoken like that before, and we wondered whether the words were truly his own. The question was foolish and twisted. Eve should have stopped the conversation at once, but instead she explained what the Lord had commanded. To our surprise, Nachash then interpreted God’s command in the opposite way, adding attractive words that stirred Eve’s curiosity. His deception worked.
“You will not surely die…” (Gen.3:4)
After hearing that twisted and deceptive statement from Nachash, doubt formed in Eve’s heart. Was it true? Won’t we die? Was the Lord hiding something? Forbid something that was good? She began to gaze at the fruit of the forbidden tree. It now seemed good for food and delightful to the eyes, though every tree in the garden had already been made pleasant to the sight and good for food by the Lord God. …(Gen.2:9). Yet this tree now appeared different to her. Eve got completely deceived. She forgot what I had told her, what the Lord had commanded, and the consequence—the final judgment of DEATH.

“Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust All the days of your life.
To the Satan
And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
To the woman:
“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
To Adam,
“Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face, you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”
