After many long years of waiting, the promised days had finally come. For many years, Papa had warned our family and everyone around us that ‘RAIN’ (a new word coined and nobody knows the real meaning till now) will come on the earth and completely cover the earth which no one understood. Water would pour from heaven, cover the land, and destroy every living thing.
At the LORD’s instruction, Papa built an ark according to the exact materials, dimensions, and openings God specified to him. We all put our efforts into cutting wood, sawing, and building the ark. While we were engaged in building it, many of the people including our relatives made fun of us. Because they never heard or seen the Rain. How would it pour water from heaven, and it would sink the entire world? Was there water in the sky stored in a tank or reservoir? They thought we, our father and the family, became mad to believe this myth. We too never seen water pouring from sky until this day, yet we believed our father. He never told any lie, and he was a righteous person, we know. Now, the ark stood in our front yard like a magnificent monument: a strong horse prepared for battle and a faithful donkey ready to carry its master’s load.
Papa invited everyone to enter the ark, but they treated his warning as a wild joke. No one had heard of rain or seen anything like it since the creation of the earth, so they found the prophecy difficult to believe. But it was not so with other creatures. Then, one extraordinary day, the animals began arriving in a line and entering the ark in pairs. It was an amazing sight. I do not know who led them, guided them, or told them about the promised rain—but every one of them reached the ark.
Life Inside the Ark
And one morning that happened. Dark gray thing, looked like cotton, covered the entire sky. Sun disappeared and it became dark. And lots of noise and lights occurred from those cotton- like things (clouds) and water started to fall from the sky. It was raining. Raining and Raining and Raining. It never stopped.
Nearly a week had passed since we left home and entered the ark, yet each day brought something astonishing. Life inside was unlike anything we had known. The ark offered none of the comforts of modern travel—no internet, telephone, sauna, bar, cockpit, or captain’s room. It was dim but cool inside. The door was sealed from the outside, and noise surrounded us: rain pounding, thunder crashing, and people banging on the door, desperate to enter.
The animals made the journey more enjoyable. When an elephant shifts its weight, the entire ark sways heavily, and everyone trembled when the lions and tigers roared. The largest animals are uneasy in their unfamiliar quarters, where their movement and freedom are restricted. Birds, beasts, and creeping creatures fill the ark with constant noise.
Desperate Knocks, a Sealed Door
Outside, frantic voices called at us while people banged on the door. Many were close friends and relatives with whom we celebrated festivals, attended family gatherings, and shared years of companionship. Now they were desperately trying to enter the ark as the rain brought so much water to the earth that everything was slowly sinking. Water level was rising day by day.
They stayed near the ark, hoping Papa would open the door. But we could not let them in. God had sealed the door from the outside and opening it would have allowed the floodwater to rush in, killing everyone aboard including the animals. How God made the door completely watertight remains a wonder to me.
Gradually, the voices outside faded as the rising water swallowed everyone and everything. Then the ark began to float. The same flood that destroyed the world outside carried us onward—toward safety.
We are hearing the news of Lord’s second coming for long time and it became unbelievable to the world but the very same will take us above heavens. ARK is ready, are you ready?
